I read a recent article by Gene Sloan on the USAToday.com website on the cruise entertainment and I had the best. The three ships compared Allure of the Seas by Royal Caribbean, the Norwegian epic cruise line Disney Cruise Lines and Disney Dream. These new ships that sailed in the last six months. They are all competing for their holiday cruise company.
Norwegian Epic has a breathtaking view, including Blue Man Group and a dinner show under the tent, Cirque Dreams & Dinner. Royal Caribbean has a Broadway show, Chicago: The Musical, which remains faithful to the original, and its outdoor show Aqua Theater, oceanariums, a water show with very high choreography divers and a 17-foot deep pool Deeper into the sea. Disney Dream was a trio of Broadway musicals, including Disney believes it, with Disney’s famous characters appearances. They have also animated characters in their clubs for children chatting with children, and a detective game through the spacecraft organized by Goofy. Buccaneer Disney Fireworks Explosion (the only cruise line offers fireworks in the lights of the sea).
These new vessels carry on-board entertainment to a whole new level. I spent a cruise on vacation and I attended a great entertainment on board. It’s part of the charm of a cruise … I can be walked and had dinner without having to worry about parking or the environment. I can dine, then go to the theater early enough to get a good seat. With these new programs available, I can now make my reservations in advance and be sure of a seat. I may be surprised by the Broadway production of shows … or feats of audacity by the dive leaders. Young children can entertain themselves with family scene shows or play detective with Goofy.
If it is the most spectacular show to show, in most children’s entertainment, the most Olympic entertainment or the biggest party at sea, in the end, we all win. We win because we have a choice. We do not have to see the same spectacle we have seen in the past. The previous Broadway Revue shows get more relevancy between us … … follow your entertainment to a higher level, or go where the shows are. We have seen the best and we will accept nothing less. A client of mine just got back from a cruise on the Celebrity Solstice. Loved the food, the service, the boat, its amenities, spas and restaurants. I was excited … until he told me about entertainment. He said he was very disappointed … Celebrity and had seen better high school musicals. Oh, that hurts. Celebrities will have to invest in their entertainment budget if they want to attract repeat customers, since the second rate of entertainment is not enough with consumers. There are also many other cruise companies competing for their business, and the bar has risen. Expect to return home to your cruise on these new ships and keep yourself wanting more.
